The longer I hold a weighty problem, the longer it holds me.
If I fuss for a minute, think over the options and then hand it to God, that’s one thing.
What if I hold on to my problem for a couple of hours, then call on God? Hmmmm.
But if I refuse to relinquish that weight for a day, a week, maybe even never, the weight of the thing begins to show.
I become a person who is clearly overcome with fretting.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
Christ has overcome the world. I think that must include my little trouble, don’t you? I bet it includes yours as well!
1. Do not worry about tomorrow.
2. Tomorrow will worry about itself.
3. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (From Matthew 6:34)
