Did you know that http on a web site address simply means that your computer is talking to their computer? We should never enter our credit card information on an http website!
However, did you know that if the web address contains an “S” in the title, that “S” signifies a secure web site? If the web address begins with “https” your computer is talking to that web site in a secure language and not even your mother-in-law can listen in.
That “S” stands for secure in the Christian faith as well. And it stands for Saviour, Salvation and… may I say it again? Please let me say it again. The “S” stands for Salvation!
It’s crucial that we keep a firm grip on what we’ve heard so that we don’t drift off. If the old message delivered by the angels was valid and nobody got away with anything, do you think we can risk neglecting this latest message, this magnificent salvation?
First of all, it was delivered in person by the Master, then accurately passed on to us by those who heard it from him. All the while God was validating it with gifts through the Holy Spirit, all sorts of signs and miracles, as he saw fit. (Hebrews 2:1-4, MSG)
Prayer – Lord, may we never neglect so great a salvation…For Christ died for it. Amen
