When the Truth Hurts

It’s 60% versus 8% when it comes to New Year Resolutions! 60% of us make them, but only 8% keep them. The odds aren’t great in our favour. We still want to change the same old things. Overall health issues of every kind lead the lists, followed by various family goals.

If family and health are so important to us, why don’t we follow up?

Could it be wishful thinking, lack of commitment, laziness, lack of will power?

Or are our goals really our doctor’s or our spouse’s?

Is it our goal because everyone else is doing it?

Be truthful. If it’s something you really care about, you’ll accomplish it.

The more we exercise good habits, the easier they become.

If the goal is wrong, then we must figure out the correct one, by being true to our own personal selves. And being true to ourselves means being true to our Lord and Saviour, The Christ.

By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. (John 5:30, NIV)
