Worry and Wonder

A body is a wonderful thing. I mean, I am grateful for mine—mostly. However, when small worries take over its wonder, I lose my perspective and query myself on the craziest things.

Does this lipstick match this outfit? Will it stay on or will I have eaten it off by 10 a.m.? How much lipstick does a woman eat in a year anyway? Especially a woman who can eat anything that’s not nailed down!

Did I buy the right face cream? The commercial said to use it on dry skin, but I’m not dry all over… Well, maybe just a little under the eyes… really… just a little… which explains those wrinkles. What will I do about them? Is it a more expensive store product or that old wives tale of Preparation H?

Job had lots of problems but it sounds like he, too, worried about getting wrinkles.

And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, which is a witness against me: and my leanness rising up in me beareth witness to my face. (Job 16:8, KJV)

Never mind! I’ve found the cure for those wrinkles!

Christ did this, so that he would have a glorious and holy church, without faults or spots or wrinkles or any other flaws.  (Ephesians 5:27, CEV)

Prayer – Lord, thanks that no matter what life gives us, eventually we will be wrinkle-free! Amen!
