How To Raise Godly Children - Part One

The dream of every parent is to have their children grow into a responsible, productive adult and member of society. For them to show politeness, manners, and generosity toward others.  But children can never learn what they are never modeled. I started calling my young sons and daughters, when they asked for something or ask me a question; “Yes sir” or “Yes ma’am“.  Now that all but one are adults, they have continued this pattern when they respond toward others.  It is now internalized and

Pastor Terry Jones thinks that Jesus would tell him to burn hundreds of Korans this Saturday to mark the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on America, according to an interview with ABC’s Terry Moran. When Moran asked Jones if he thought that Jesus would say, “Pastor, go burn that holy book,” the leader of Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, FL replied “Absolutely.” Herein lay the problem – his thinking rather than his knowing.

Christians do not have to try to imagine what Jesus would

James 4:10 Be humbled before the Lord, and He will exalt you.
Pray for a spirit of humility.
The after taste is truly sweet.

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Pray for a spirit of reverence.
The experience is enlightening.

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart! For they shall see God.
Pray for a spirit of purity--a desire to be clean, and a desire to allow God to take control.
It smells a lot

Technology is moving faster than a speeding bullet. It isn’t Superman, but it’s getting close.

A team of scientists in Great Britain and a team at University of Arizona in Phoenix joined forces and have developed a nifty gadget using microfluidity technology to process DNA results at the lightening speed of four hours. (Remember back in the 1990s this process took a month or more.) An article at www.separationsnow.com explains in greater detail.

The police in the UK usually have to

The Importance of a Vision

Many churches have adopted a vision statement, which is the hope of what is to come.  A vision can almost be compared to a dream.  Within many churches there may be different ministries that also adopt a vision statement.

A vision gives you a frame of reference, a foundation in which to build upon.  It is a good idea for everyone to develop their own vision.  Proverbs 29:18 says in the New American Standard version that when there is no vision, the people are unrestrained.

Most of us can

For far too long, church history has been told as HIS-story. The strong, empowering voices of women have been silenced. It’s a sad pattern that we can trace back all the way to Hagar.

Fortunately, a fair and balanced narrative of church history shows that women have always spoken God’s truth in

Terry Jones, Pastor Who Wants To Burn Korans, Isn’t Doing Christians Any Favors

To be blunt, Gainesville, Fla., pastor Terry Jones isn’t doing Christians a favor.

If you don’t recognize Jones by name, you probably have heard what he is doing at Dove World Outreach Center, planning to burn Korans on Saturday, the ninth anniversary of 9-11.

He has been asked to stop by local church leaders and law enforcement in Gainesville, most commonly known as the home to the University of Florida.

He has been asked to stop by federal officials.

He has been asked to stop by –

With the Major League Baseball season entering its stretch run, there are plenty of pennant races to watch, with two of the teams in the thick of the race being the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers.

St. Louis is currently six games behind the upstart Cincinnati Reds in the National League Central, which are led by NL Most Valuable Player candidate Joey Votto.

The Cardinals have a well-established MVP candidate of their own in Albert Pujols, who has won the past two years and
