"If you're newly widowed, I think it's very good for you to jump into something. I have wonderful children and they're calling me all the time, but this is still good for me,” says Marion Ross, the Mrs. C. of the hit show, Happy Days.

I’ve always loved both the show and Mrs. C., but when I heard that her hubby passed away just before mine, it created a special bond. There she is, not a year later, in a new play, doing something meaningful, getting on with her life in spite of her circumstances.

I thought about my last few months alone. Have I lived up to Mrs. C.’s standards and moved forward in spite of my circumstances, my feelings, and my grief?

Thankfully I can say yes. The Big Red Chair, my children’s book for grieving children, and Meeting Myself, Snippets from a Binging and Bulging Mind, both hit the book stores this past year. I completed the NaNoWriMo.org in November. (You have to write 50,000 words during that month.) My new book, The Pregnant Pause of Grief, The First Trimester, goes to press soon,

I still cry on occasion and I expect she does too, yet in spite of that? Hats off Mrs. C.! As the most popular TV mom ever, you continue to inspire your fans.

Now the question remains. Will you and I do the same? Be an example for someone as they move through this life? Maybe we haven’t aimed as high as St. Paul but we could……

1 Corinthians 11:1-Pattern yourselves after me [follow my example], as I imitate and follow Christ (the Messiah) (AMP).

Prayer: Lord, help us live so that our lives encourage others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
