Candle, Anyone?

This week, I decided to treat myself to farm fresh eggs. To my dismay, I’ve had to throw at least half of them out because of blood spots in the yolk or white.

Because an egg shell is really quite thin, a light shone near it shows if a chick embryo is forming in the egg. That allows the farmer to remove that egg from the grocery chain. Oops! Something went wrong with my eggs and their candling.

God candles us.

Luke 1:78-Because of and through the heart of tender mercy and loving-kindness of our God, a Light from on high will dawn upon us and visit [us] (AMP).

If we paid attention, that light will illumine us.

Matthew 4:16-The people who sat (dwelt enveloped) in darkness have seen a great Light, and for those who sat in the land and shadow of death Light has dawned (AMP).

And we ought to let it illumine others.

Matthew 5:16-Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven (AMP).

And walk, forever changed by that light.

Ephesians 5:8-For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light] (AMP).

How are we doing?

Prayer: Lord, shine the light of Christ over us, through us, to others. Amen.
