Lemon Face

Did you hear about the college kid who had to give up using cookbooks? He had to because all the recipes started with the words…take a clean dish!
Ron loved to make people laugh. Oh, he sometimes got lots of opposition. Do you know there are people in the world who do not know nor care to know how to laugh? They aren’t just sombre but downright gloomy and they want the rest of us to be gloomy too.
Sadly, many a Christian glowers forth a lemon face expression, even in the midst of good times. How terrifying their faces must be in the midst of difficulty! Whew!
Someone told me that a sense of humour is one of the healthiest things you can have in your grief. Still I felt guilty the first time I laughed in my sorrow. Then I read this.
Proverbs 14:13a-Even in laughter the heart may sorrow (NKJV).
Job 8:21- He will yet fill your mouth with laughter [Job] and your lips with joyful shouting (AMP).
Why not try a little giggle today? Let heartfelt laughter bubble out. Relax, even heal just a bit.
Prayer: Lord, when we aren’t feeling the least bit like laughing, give us something to laugh at, even if it is only ourselves. In Christ’s name. Amen.
