Do you remember that old math question about the frog in the well that worked his way up two feet on Tuesday and slid down one foot on Wednesday? Unfortunately, I did a frog and regressed somewhat. Perhaps you are doing the same thing, whether it from grief or some other trauma of life.
This week-end I attended both a funeral and a 50th wedding anniversary. Not a great combination. Thankfully found myself surrounded by good friends/family at each occasion.
I saved my worst reactions for home. Bread and I had a heavy date. Two days later, I am still struggling to regain my healing spot, the one I thought I was at forever. And there is nothing to do but just keep walking forward into the pain because if I don't, God can't get a grasp on it to sooth it with his grace.
Oh but for the grace of God, what would ever we do?
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17- Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work NKJV).
Prayer: Lord, meet us in our pain. Strengthen our hanging hands, our feeble knees. Help us make straight paths for our feet so that what is lame should not be dislocated, but instead, be healed. Oh with many thanks, we ask and pray expectantly. In Jesus’ name. Amen. (from Hebrews 12:12-13)
