To Will or Not to Will

Take a minute to read Oswald Chamber’s words below.
A person’s will is embodied in the actions of the whole person. I cannot give up my will— I must exercise it, putting it into action. I must will to obey, and I must will to receive God’s Spirit. When God gives me a vision of truth, there is never a question of what He will do, but only of what I will do. (July 8,2012- http://utmost.org/will-to-be-faithful/ )
Now think about that for a minute. What is God asking us to do? Are we expecting him to do the thing? I hope not. We are to put our will to work. Just as exercise builds our physical muscles, so it also strengthens our spiritual ones. The more action we give them both, the stronger they get. We have to move in one direction or another. Which will it be? Think carefully before you decide.
Joshua 24:15- But if serving the Lordseems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord (NIV).”
Did we make the right decision? It is not too late.
Joshua 24:15b- but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (AMP).
Prayer: Father God, we choose you because there is no other worthy of our time. Help us remember that in the choosing, we also picked obedience to everything you tell us to do. Amen.
