Okay, you know you are having sugar cravings when you get a card that says "you’re in God’s CAKE…The Lord will bless His People with PIECE!"   Yes, I read my card that way. I admit it and right after a good breakfast too.

After re-adjusting my glasses, I read it again, this time correctly. “You’re in God’s CARE…The Lord will bless His People with PEACE (Psalm 29:11).

Apparently,  my evil desires were floating just under the surface. And like Ecclesiastes says- it was vanity, empty, striving after wind and feeding on it, because I didn’t have cake in the house! (Thank God!)

Ecclesiastes 6:9- Better is the sight of the eyes [the enjoyment of what is available to one] than the cravings of wandering desire. This is also vanity (emptiness, falsity, and futility) and a striving after the wind and a feeding on it (AMP)!

But it is obvious that our old self is just waiting to pounce at any moment, as soon as we let our guard down. Those cravings may appear but we do not have to follow up on them. Whew! Is that good news or what!

Galatians 5:16-But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God) (AMP).

Prayer: Father God, thank you that we can clothe ourselves with Christ and we do not have to make any provision for our flesh. Remind us again and again not to let our minds even think of pleasing the cravings of our physical nature] For Christ’s Sake, Amen (from Romans 13:14).
