Snafu

Christianity began in Palestine as a fellowship, went to Greece and became a philosophy, to Italy where it became an institution, to Europe as a culture and then finally to North America where it became an enterprise—a business. But isn’t it supposed to be a body? But when a body becomes a business isn’t that a prostitute? (Writer unknown)

In army terms that sound like a snafu, a word that stands for situation normal all fouled up. How is it that we always seem to take what God meant and try to turn it into what we want? Why do we fight off God-control of our lives?

God desires a personal relationship with us; a personal relationship built on the fact that God’s Son, Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead. No snafu there.

1 John 3:21-24-And friends, once that's taken care of and we're no longer accusing or condemning ourselves, we're bold and free before God! We're able to stretch our hands out and receive what we asked for because we're doing what he said, doing what pleases him. Again, this is God's command: to believe in his personally named Son, Jesus Christ. He told us to love each other, in line with the original command. As we keep his commands, we live deeply and surely in him, and he lives in us. And this is how we experience his deep and abiding presence in us: by the Spirit he gave us (AMP).

Prayer: Dear God, remind us how You started our relationship in the first place and help us be faithful to the original agreement. For Christ’s Sake. Amen.
