My Ron could fix anything and did. Give him grease to play in and he was one happy guy. He loved dancing to anything with country flair. He hardly ever missed an evening of euchre or crib.
Never one to do anything by halves, Ron threw all his energy into beating cancer. For ten years, he pounded it to a pulp. At the end, his valiant spirit still unbowed some thought he lost the battle.
Psalm 41:8-An evil disease, say they, is poured out upon him and cleaves fast to him; and now that he is bedfast, he will not rise up again (AMP).
In fact he won the war because he is spending eternity with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Psalm 41:11-12-By this I know that You favor and delight in me, because my enemy does not triumph over me. And as for me, You have upheld me in my integrity and set me in Your presence forever (AMP).
1 Corinthians 15:54-55-So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory (KJV)?
I don’t suppose Thomas Edison was speaking about death when he said that many failures are people who gave up, not knowing how close they were to success.
Prayer: Lord, help us see that victory through your eyes may be quite different from what we see. In Christ. Amen.
