Open Our Eyes

No matter how hard I try, I never seem to get all the Christmas stuff put away on the first try.
Today I found a couple of Christmas cards tucked behind part of the manger scene. I don’t feel so bad. My neighbor just noticed the Christmas wreath hanging on her front door!
Why don’t we see what is right in front of us? Maybe that’s what Jesus was referring to in this passage.
I was a stranger and you did not welcome Me and entertain Me, I was naked and you did not clothe Me, I was sick and in prison and you did not visit Me with help and ministering care.(Matthew 25:43, AMP)
And his listeners apparently were the type who might miss a Christmas wreath.
Then they also [in their turn] will answer, Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You? (Matthew 25:44, AMP)
Prayer: Father God, open our eyes to the needs of others right at our front door. Amen.
