The Best Gift

Job 16:19- Even now, behold, my Witness is in heaven, and He who vouches for me is on high (AMP).
Battery high season approaches! One company advertises their product as the gift that keeps on giving. All sorts of trains, dolls and games will need a power push if they are to excite and entertain little ones on Christmas Day. (Here is a word of caution to young parents. Attach the necessary batteries to any such gift. Woe betides the parent stuck with a powerless toy and a crying child!)
Centuries ago, beleaguered Job was confident that he had a witness (mediator, advocate) who would plead his case before God. Centuries later, Job’s mediator, Jesus, still mediates, on your behalf and on mine. Now, that is the gift that really keeps on giving!
1 Timothy 2:5, 6- For there [is only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus who gave Himself as a ransom for all [people, a fact that was] attested to at the right and proper time (AMP).
Prayer:Lord, just as You mediated for Job and years later, for us, please continue to do the same for our children and our children’s’children, onto the thousandth generation. In Christ’s name. Amen.
