Walden Media releases its third movie today based on C. S. Lewis' classic series The Chronicles of Narnia. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is based on Lewis' 1952 book of the same name. Dawn Treader will be the first movie in the series distributed by 20th Century Fox (the previous Chronicles movies were distributed by Walt Disney) and the first to be released in Digital 3D.
Dawn Treader is set a year after the events of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. In Dawn Treader, the main characters, Edmund and Lucy, are transported back to Narnia along with their cousin Eustace. There they join Caspian, the new king of Narnia, in his quest to rescue seven lost lords and to rescue Narnia from an evil force.
"C.S. Lewis always meant for Dawn Treader to reflect a Christian's walk in this fallen world of ours, and the temptations faced by the film's protagonists seem to reflect the Seven Deadly Sins," writes Plugged In Online's Paul Asay. Asay describes the movie as a fun, "cinematic adventure that retains the spirit of Lewis' original treasure." You can read his full review here.
