Chris August, Jason Crabb Top Dove Nominees

Chris August and Jason Crabb each received five Dove Award nominations. August and Crabb were both nominated in the Song of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year categories. In addition, August is nominated in the New Artist of the Year category.
Francesca Battistelli, who had four overall nods, is among the contenders for Female Vocalist of the Year. She was nominated along with Audrey Assad, Natalie Grant, Britt Nicole, Janet Paschal, Kerrie Roberts and Laura Story.
MIKESCHAIR, who also had four nominations, heads the field of Group of the Year contenders. Also nominated were Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, Gaither Vocal Band, Sidewalk Prophets, Tenth Avenue North, MercyMe and NEEDTOBREATHE.
Other Male Vocalist nominees were Doug Anderson, Brandon Heath, Grammy winner Israel Houghton, Marvin Sapp and Chris Tomlin.
Forever Jones, John Mark McMillan, No Other Name and Kristian Stanfill are nominated for New Artist along with Assad, August and Roberts.
Founded in the 1969, the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards is the longest running and most prestigious televised awards ceremony recognizing achievement in all genres of Christian and Gospel music. The Dove Awards will be held April 20 at Atlanta's historic Fox Theatre and will air Easter Sunday, April 24 on gmc. Click here for a complete list of nominees.
