100 Years

One hundred years ago the ‘war to end all wars’ began on July 28, 2014 and finally ended on November 11, 1918. More than nine million military people and about seven million civilians died.

Circumstances of unforgiveness, revenge, greed and various other human emotions translated into a second world war.

Nothing has really changed. People continue to make waves, fight petty little battles, involve more people, and eventually they become a global threat.

Today we remember those who died through all wars. Oh that someday November 11 might stand for all who made peace.

He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. (Mark 4:39, NIV)

Prayer – Oh Lord, may we be like those waves of water and quiet ourselves before you and before others. Amen
