The 2009 GMCVA winners will be announced in a one-hour television special to premiere on GMC this Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Andrea Bocelli may not have been able to take No 1 spot from Susan Boyle on the album charts, but he did wind up No 1 on the holiday album charts. The Italian tenor’s “My Christmas” maintained the No 1 holiday album of choice over the festive season on the Billboard holiday album chart.

A Nevada couple who was rescued after three days stuck in their car on an unplowed road said it was GPS directions that led them deep into an Oregon forest.

Texas Tech suspended football coach Mike Leach indefinitely after a player and his family filed a complaint about the player’s treatment after a concussion. The school said in a release Monday defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeill will be the interim coach, McNeill will coach the Red Raiders in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Saturday against Michigan State. The player, Adam James, is a redshirt sophomore wide receiver for the Red Raiders and the son of ESPN college football analyst Craig James.
