Use What Belongs to You

When the storms of life come, you don’t have to face them alone. Not only will God step in and help, you also have the authority to take charge over your circumstances. When you know who you are in Christ and you gain an understanding of the power you possess through Jesus, you can fly high above the attacks of the enemy. The promises of God are yours when you know what God has said in His Word, believe it in your heart and speak it in confidence and faith! Using your authority by praying in the name of Jesus is the key to getting results.

Did you know that there is power vested in the name of Jesus? When He died, went to hell and rose from the dead, He obtained the authority that Satan had stolen from man in the Garden of Eden (Matthew 28:18). When you are born again, you have the same authority to take command over your circumstances (Luke 10:19). You can speak to negative situations in the name of Jesus and it will be as if Jesus Himself is speaking! Now that’s power.

One area in which you can exercise the power of the name of Jesus is your finances. If the bills are piling up, creditors are hounding you and it seems there is no way out of a financial dilemma, use your authority in Jesus Christ to remove the hindrances to your prosperity. Get your pile of bills and command any unpaid balances to be removed in the name of Jesus! Next, release your faith for God to bring the necessary finances into your hands.

Not only do you have access to the spiritual tools necessary to remove mountains, but when you begin to seek God, He will reveal to you the areas in which you may need to make adjustments in the natural realm, where your money is concerned. Your spending habits, whether you are saving money and staying out of debt, all play a role in your financial situation. God can help you when you seek Him for practical wisdom and use the name of Jesus in prayer.

Many parents are faced with challenging situations where their children are concerned. I never hesitate to tell parents to use their authority and speak into their children’s lives according to the Word of God. If you need God’s intervention with your children and teenagers, start using the name of Jesus when you pray over them. Begin to release your faith that your children will walk uprightly and that they will honor those in authority. Don’t succumb to the devil’s tactics in your home. You have the authority in Jesus name, so use it! In Matthew 28:18, Jesus said, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Just as Christ gave His authority to His disciples, when you are in relationship with Him, that same authority is available to you. He says in Matthew 18:18, “Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.” This authority gives you power over all the evil forces that may try to come against you and hinder God’s work in your life.

God will not come down from Heaven to change your circumstances; He has given you the keys to do that. So what can you do to ensure that your authority in Christ will be effective? Continue to be obedient to God’s Word. Walk in love and make sure that your motives and your heart are pure. You cannot expect your authority to have effect if you are living any kind of way or if your behavior does not reflect God’s character. In addition, continue to meditate on the Scriptures and seek His wisdom on a daily basis. This will show you how to use your authority effectively, so that you see the promises of God manifest.

You exercise your faith and authority when you believe God’s Word and confess it (Romans 10:10). While in the natural, your circumstances may not seem to line up with God’s Word-don’t be moved. Believe in your heart that God’s Word is true, and that when you speak and act on it, your situation will change. Use the name of Jesus so that you can overcome the challenges you face, and walk in total victory!
