Did you know that a bee visits about 2,000,000 flowers in order to get enough nectar to make just one pound of honey? What if someone told the bee that before he visited his first flower? How well do you think he’d perform? Thankfully, nobody tells the bee and he just keeps going on, one flower at a time, one drop of nectar at a time, till he gets the job done.
God graciously does the same for us. What if he told us at an early age that our life would include cancer or diabetes or family trauma, maybe a car accident or two, the loss of dear relatives and friends? How well do you think we’d perform?
But God is gracious. He lets us know our life little by little as the time arises. Then, because he is God, he gives us the grace, courage and strength to walk through it to victory. We may not understand the why of our life, but we always know the Who of it.
A person’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand their own way? (Proverbs 20:24, NIV)
