Government rules and regulations allow certain things to be sold under strenuous conditions, but quite frankly, I wouldn’t take the chance. These include any children-related items like baby gates, car seats, cribs, and jewellery. You’ll also find sports equipment, playpens, strollers, carriages, high chairs and toys on the not-available-at-this- house list. Even clothing is iffy.
I can’t begin to list all the worrisome items here so be sure to check online.
The same truth applies to our living with Jesus. There are things we should and shouldn’t do. The trouble is if we don’t bother to check and see what they are; if we don’t read our Bible to learn what God expects, we are responsible for the outcome.
The first thing that comes to mind is the 10 commandments. You’ll find them in Exodus 20. That’s just the basics. You will also want to check out verses like these.
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”(John 6:28-29, NIV)
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. (John 14:23, NIV)
Prayer – Lord, help us take these ‘rules’ to heart and we can because you promised that your yoke is easy and your burden is light. Amen (From Matthew 11:30)
