Since we celebrate our birthdays in January and March and the weather limits our travel, my friend decided that we will celebrate in the summer months. “After all, she said, “our birthdays are such crummy birthday days!”
We are definitely a perverse people. If we have winter birthdays we want a summer one so we can have a pool party. If we have summer ones, we yearn for a skating party with hot chocolate refreshments
At first I agreed with her, but then God convicted my mouth (again!) No matter how we feel, any birthday is a good birthday because on that day God gave us life!
Deuteronomy 30:19-20- I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live And may love the Lord your God, obey His voice, and cling to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (AMP).
Prayer: Father God, thank you for giving us our lives. We dedicate them to you. Amen.
