It is too bad that our month of love, February, is shorter than most of the others. I could talk about love for a while yet, couldn’t you?
The word February comes from the Latin meaning to purify or expiate. It was a month of purification. When we are purified, we rid ourselves of the harmful, the inferior, poisonous substances and contaminants. To be expiated is to make amends, and show remorse.
I hope that is what we accomplished these last few weeks…for love conquers all.
Let’s check ourselves against our balancing act again and see how far we have come.
1 Corinthians 13:3b- If I but do not have love, I gain nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:8 -Love never fails
1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Continue to love, my friend, for that is the true nature of God.
Prayer-Father we don’t perfectly love yet, but you do and we trust you to continue to teach us in Christ. Amen.
