Another Birthday

So I find myself another year older and wondering how many more years I have in this lifetime.

If I let them, panic thoughts will fill my mind. Do I have enough savings to last if I live another 30 years? Will I be well for all those years? What if I get ill and there is no one to look after me?

Old age is not for wimps. Are we up to it? We say ‘I would love to live to age ninety but only if I have all my health, my mind, enough to live on, or if all my friends haven’t died first.

Why does God allow the suffering of old age or any other kind for that matter?

As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,”said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him." (John 9:1-3, NIV)

Well then…

Prayer- Lord, may our every state of life be one in which your works are displayed in us. Amen.
