We’ve had quite a drought in southern Ontario this past summer. Even atheists prayed for rain. The heavens remained closed to answers and to rain. What to do, what to do? Why, pray more of course!
Then one day God answered all those prayers in a mighty way. I found myself sitting in my car at the grocery store, rain teeming down though those opened heavens. Several folks huddled under the store awning, unwilling to brave the damp. I thought them to be quite cowardly, until I considered my own situation. Why did I refuse to accept God’s blessing when he gave it? I jumped out of the car and made a bee line toward the store entrance.
I met another brave soul on the way. “Isn’t this wonderful??” I cried. She cried out in return. “No, it’s disgusting.”
Do you ever pray? Of course you do. Do you expect answers? Of course you do. What do you do with them?
So, I’m just asking you ever so gently. What do you do with prayer; the kind of prayer that gets answered? What if you pray for rain and you get it?
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. (Matthew 21:22, NIV)
Prayer – Father, give us the grace to accept your answers to our prayers. Amen.
