My children used to ask me questions. Now the grandchildren don’t ask me anything because there is an app or a TV show somewhere that knows everything I don’t.
I find myself wondering if the family really needs me for anything anymore. I’m out of date with my clothes, my values, and my Christmas gifts. They want cash or computer gadgets, but I like to shop and buy them something personal. (Note to self: Do not buy plaid anything.)
I used to prepare Christmas dinner for twenty or so family members, but someone decided that I wasn’t up to it. Now I must either travel miles on a snowy December 25th to link up with them over the holidays or sit by myself for the day.
Never mind. I am sure there is an App for that.
Do you ever feel left behind by the artificial intelligence around us? Me too. What to do, what to do? We can try to keep up or we can just give up. Which one will you choose?
Isn’t the answer the same as for all of our live? Never give up for we have God, who sustains us.
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. (Psalm 55:22, NIV)
Prayer-Thanks God for sustaining us even when we feel like we are falling behind. Amen.
