Are You Up To The Challenge?

Good Morning Everyone,

Today will be the last time I write a Daily Devotional for Everyday Christian. Someone new will fill this spot tomorrow. I've been reassigned to a new position which will start later this next month. I'm really excited about the new opportunity. Am I up to the new challenge?  You bet!

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

We've all been given a challenge. God has plans for each and every one of us, (Jeremiah 29:11-14). However, He also supplies each and every one of us with all that we need to get the job done for His glory.

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV)

In the 28 chapter of Matthew, Jesus lays out the Great Commission, a command for all Christians to go out and be imitators of Christ from this day forward until the ends of the age. We have work to do.

“Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:16-20

He promises to always be with us. I find this so reassuring. We are never alone. It's also a great example of the Trinity and that God and Jesus are one.

Before Christ, Old Testament, the Lord is God. “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)

With Christ, New Testament, the Lord is Christ and God. “I and the Father are one.” John 10:30 (NIV)

“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b (NIV)

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, ( Philippians 4:13), and He never leaves our side. He has equipped us with all that we need to accept any challenge He presents before us, (2 Corinthians 9:8), and we should do everything as though we are working for the Lord and for His glory.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,: Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

Are you up to the challenge? Yes, you are. You can do everything through Christ who strengthens you. He never leaves you nor forsakes you. He takes you by the hand and walks with you every step of the way. Share this message of God's love with everyone you meet. Take a bold stand in dark world and be a light for Christ to all those who see you.

“Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:15-16 (NIV)

You can do it. God be with you.

“But now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith— to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.” Romans 16:26-27 (NIV)
