Just came across a picture of me in a bathing suit. Scary, especially since it was taken when I weighed 228 pounds. It took some time, but I am about half that person now. I am a new creature in weigh land, for I have gone from a size 24 to a size 10-12 and I sometimes even wear a size 4! (See ‘You too can wear a size 4’ – on YouTube!)
God promises that we are new creatures in Christ, but sometimes that is not so evident to us. Still, just as my Weight Watchers leader promised that I would eventually make it to my goal, so God promises that we are fresh and new. Just because we can’t see it, doesn’t make it so.
And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18, AMP)
Prayer- Lord, how grateful we are that you see us as new creatures in Christ. Amen.
