Frankly folks we all teeter on the edge of doubt. Take note of the story below.
I hit a few guilty consciences when I sent out this quote from Joyce Meyer.
“How many lies do you believe? Pray and ask God to reveal them to you. Every lie you believe is something the devil is trying to steal from you.” (Joyce Meyer)
Replies came along this vein.
“Did I do something wrong?
Do you see a lie I might believe?
My friends fell into David’s category.
David’s conscience bothered him (1 Samuel 24:5a, NASB)
I answered my friends this way. “Only God and Joyce Meyer know!
A conscience is our personal guide to right and wrong. Its job is to urge us to do the right thing. When God comes into our life, our conscience is cleansed to a deeper level.
The truth is we don’t have to suffer from a guilty conscience at all. A clear conscience is just another one of the benefits of the blood of Christ.
How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14, NASB)
I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day. (2 Timothy 1:3, NASB)
Prayer- Lord, we offer our consciences up to you. Cleanse us of any lies we believe that separate us from you! Amen.
