Beyond Our Wildest Dreams

So far, God hasn’t tested me with big bunches of cash, so I don’t know if I’d handle sudden wealth with any common sense. That hasn’t stopped him from giving me advice, just in case.

Psalm 62:10b-though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them (NIV).

Ecclesiastes 5:10- Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income (NIV).

Most of us will not have huge financial gatherings but we are rich, none the less. We have everlasting life (John 3:16) mansions in heaven (John 14:2) peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and unspeakable joy (1 Peter 1:8).

If that weren’t enough, we also have unfailing divine love (1 Corinthians 13:8), songs in the night (Psalm 42:8) and the crown of life (James 1:12!”)

We’re wealthy in hundred’s of other ways too. I can think of some and I bet you can too. Oh, and just another reminder of God’s goodness? None of it is taxable!

Prayer: Father, we cannot serve two masters. Remind us that we will hate one and love the other, or we will be devoted to one and despise the other. We determine to choose you and your kind of wealth over any other kind, any day. For Jesus’ sake, Amen (based on Matthew 6:24).
