Did you know God originated the first BBQ ideas? Let me enlighten you.
Your BBQ manufacturer provides an owner’s manual for a reason. God beat him to it. This manual is called the Bible. Perhaps you are familiar with it?
Of course, you need to clean your grill regularly. That’s what the Bible does for your soul.
Does your BBQ have any dangerous gas leaks? Are we obeying God in all areas?
Stop hanging flammable stuff near your BBQ. What nasty things are hanging between you and God? They will cause no end of trouble for you.
Minor food/grease flare-ups are dangerous. Keep a spray bottle of water and a fire extinguisher on hand and know how to use them. These are also available in scripture.
It’s dangerous to turn on your grill when the lid is closed. Oddly enough the Bible is also not useful if closed.
BBQ-ing requires some protective grill gloves and utensils with long handles. The Bible also tells us how to have real protection.
But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armour of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. (1 Thessalonians 5:8, NLT)
So friends, enjoy the summer and your BBQ but don’t let it take you away from the best food ever, found in the word of God.
