Bible Theme Jesus

So you aren’t sure what God is writing? Like a great novelist, God carries his theme throughout the Bible.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. (Acts 17:11, NIV)

Note that their scriptures were only the Old Testament and yes, there too, they found the Christ.

But he replied, “The man who made me well said to me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’ ” (ie- Jesus is God! (John 5:11, NIV)

He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” (Luke 24:44, NIV)

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14, NIV)

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me. My mouth is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death. Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet. (Psalm 22:14-16, NIV)

Note that executions were not invented until 900 years later, by the Persians and then by the Romans who ‘perfected’ it.

This is our Christ, described in so many places and so many ways. In fact Christ fulfilled 300 prophecies about his life, times, death and resurrection.

Prayer – Lord, thank you for proving yourself over and over to those who still insist on “proof.” Thank you Christ for your gift to us! Amen.
