Big Bowls, Big Spoons

Apparently people with big bowls and big spoons eat about 50% more than people with smaller spoons and bowls.

Does this mean that the person with the biggest Bible reads it more? More likely it just means that they have poor eyesight!

We sure like to judge by appearances don’t we? But according to that bowl/ice cream information, we do it badly.

We look at Jane in her old clothes and think she is poor, but Jane has just lost ten pounds and is delighted to fit back into that dress.

We feel sorry for Tom because he drives an old car, but Tom prefers to give his extra cash to missions.

What do people see when they look at us? Perhaps they judge us wrongly. The King James Bible says: Judge not, that ye be not judged. (Matthew 7:1)

The Message clarifies that a bit. Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, and criticize their faults— unless, of course, you want the same treatment. (Matthew 7:1, MSG)

Prayer- Lord, correct our critical spirits.  Amen.
