Blue Bloods

Blue Bloods, the popular police drama always shows a scene where the family is gathered at Sunday night dinner. It’s an expected must-do.

But I wonder doesn’t anyone ever want to go to the other in-laws? Why is their Sunday night the absolute must? Think about it. A little sharing goes a long way.

What chaos threatens our children, their spouses and our grandchildren just because we want our own way?

“You must come here for Christmas Dinner. Sunday dinner at our home is a must. We never did that with our children.” We insist without thought of the turmoil caused in our children’s homes.

A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart. (Proverbs 21:2, NIV)

Perhaps we should consider the lives of our children with grace instead of demands for our own way.

Prayer- Lord, give us courage to be less demanding and more accommodating. In Christ. Amen.
