At one time the Galatians would have ripped out their own eyes for Paul.
For I bear you witness that you would have torn out your own eyes and have given them to me [to replace mine], if that were possible. (Galatians 4:15b, AMP)
Somewhere their spiritual vision had blurred.
What has become of that blessed enjoyment and satisfaction and self-congratulation that once was yours [in what I taught you and in your regard for me]? (Galatians 4:15a, AMP)
Maybe they needed glasses. After all, glasses fix blurry visions caused by astigmatism, and far and nearsightedness. Paul offers just that in Galatians 5:1, AMP.
In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].
Prayer- Lord, adjust our glasses so that we see you– God Leading All Safely, Soundly, to Eternal life and Salvation. Amen.
