Don’t you just feel like this some days?
We are hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out. We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), we are struck down to the ground. (From 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, AMP)
However, this is not the complete story! Here are the words I took out!
But not cramped or crushed; but not driven to despair; but never struck out and destroyed. (From 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, AMP)
Now let’s read it as Paul wrote it, emphasising the ‘buts’!
We are hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted [to stand alone]; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed. (2 Corinthians 4:8-9, AMP)

Prayer – Father God, help us to read, remember and trust in the small print. Amen
