Broken Travel Promises

This past Christmas, travelling became a sort of lottery deal. Travelers found that they might or might not get to their destination. They might or might not get on a plane that actually left the ground. They might or might not get home and if they did, it was never or the promised day. Worse than that, no matter which direction they traveled, their luggage did not follow.

We watched news shows where luggage conveyer belts collapsed and suitcases shot out in every direction. What a way to go!

There are better travel plans available and they won’t let you down, ever.

First, pick the best travel companions.

Large crowds were traveling with Jesus. (Luke 14:25)

Be sure you have a boarding pass.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Pack lightly.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth. (Matthew 6:19)

Trust your ticket taker.

Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. (Matthew 28:18)

Don’t worry about your return trip.

This world is not our home; we are looking forward to our everlasting home in heaven. (Hebrews 13:14)
