According to their website, the Canadian Food Grains Bank was formed in 1983 as a practical way for Canadian farmers to share their harvests with the hungry folk in the world. Their goal is a world without hunger.
I don’t know if other countries have organizations like this. I hope they do. It’s such a simple and practical thing to share our bounty with those who have nothing.
Now we might not have a field of grain to offer up, but we can make a sandwich and give it to a homeless person, or give generously to help our local food banks.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.’ (Matthew 25:35, NIV)
Prayer – Lord, give us a generous spirit. Amen
