Did I tell you about carrot wieners? You are supposed to be able to make the lowly carrot taste like a wiener. You cook large carrots and then simmer them in water, soy sauce, paprika, garlic, onion, and liquid smoke. Next, you marinate them overnight in that liquid and throw them on the BBQ.
My friend tried the recipe and I quote her here.
“A carrot is a carrot and a wiener is a wiener. One cannot be the other. That being said, I liked the carrots and will make them again, but never as a substitute for a wiener.”
What do you substitute for the real thing? Your cravings are never a substitute for Christ who died for you. Nothing else can take his place no matter how hard you try to make it so.
Doom to you who call evil good and good evil, Who put darkness in place of light and light in place of darkness, Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!(Isaiah 5:20, MSG)
Prayer- Lord we cry out for your help. You and you alone are able to fill our emptiness. Fill us with your self now, we beg you. Amen.
