Children Of God

For me, my vision of God is a loving Father. He has great plans for me and He expects me to make good decisions. He knows I will sometimes fail and yet He's always there for me to pick me up, comfort me and carry me. When I feel strong enough to continue moving forward, He will walk with me hand in hand. He is always with me. He never leaves my side.

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:2 (NIV)

God loves us so much. He created us out of love, but instead of making us like robots or puppets on strings, He made us with free will and He gives us a choice whether or not to love Him back. He knows some will choose to follow Him, but He never stops loving any of us, no matter what our choice may be. For those of us that have chosen to love Him back, the Father lavishes us with grace, mercy and love.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.” 1 John 3: 1-3 (NIV)

It is a privilege and a great honor to live for the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. What an amazing thing it is to say you have the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God living within you.

“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. the Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father. The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” Romans 8:14-16 (NIV)

I am ready for 2011. I feel so confident in the power of Lord and Savior that I feel like singing the kid's song, ” My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there's nothing my God cannot do.”

“Dear Lord, Thank you for choosing me and adopting me into your family. Your child,(your name here).”
