Christ in the Old Testament (Donkey)

Yes, indeed it is promised that Christ comes to Jerusalem on a donkey!

“Rejoice, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly, riding on a donkey, a colt, foal of a donkey” (See Zechariah 9:9).

And here is the beginning of that dreadful time of crucifixion.

“A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ‘Hosanna in the highest heaven!’ “When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, ‘Who is this?'” (See Matthew 21:8–10)

Christ’s coming was to be foretold by someone with the spirit of Elijah.

“See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. (See Malachi 4:5–6).

And sure enough, here it is in the New Testament.

“This is the one about whom it is written: ‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’ And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. Whoever has ears, let them hear” (See Matthew 11:10–15).

Prayer- Lord again and again you prove yourself. Open our ears to hear and our mouths to speak of you. Amen.
