Christ in the Old Testament (Everlasting Throne)

The never-ending story of the Old testament Christ continues.

Christ will sit on an everlasting throne. No elections for him!

There before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away. His kingdom will never be destroyed” (See Daniel 7:13–14).

And sure enough, here it is in the New Testament.

“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end” (See Luke 1:31–33).

And as promised in the Old, fulfilled in the new, the end to sin!

“Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place” (See Daniel 9:24).

“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen” (See Galatians 1:3–5).

Prayer- Oh God we offer our biggest thank you for this, an end to our sin, through the Christ. Amen.
