Christ in the Old Testament (Passover Lamb)

Again, I marvel at Christ’s caring to come to earth in spite of the hard path ahead of him.

He is our Passover Lamb.

When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe, and he will not permit the destroyer to strike you down. When you enter the land that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony. Tell your children, ‘”it is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.” (See Exodus 12:21–27).

Once more we see truth repeated.

For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed” (See 1 Corinthians 5:7).

The crucified got their bones broken to hasten death; but not the Christ!

“It must be eaten inside the house; take none of the meat outside the house. Do not break any of the bones” (See Exodus 12:46).

Here is the truth from the new!

The soldiers broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then the other. But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: ‘Not one of his bones will be broken'” (See John 19:31–36)

Prayer- God, truth is truth. Fill our ears with the truth and spur it out of our mouths. Amen.
