How does God view the oil spill in the Gulf?
This is an extraordinarily weighty question many Christians have attempted to ask and answer on our site and anywhere.
One salient point which Walter Grazer, former Environmental Justice Program for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, makes is that Christians need to buy into the fact that caring for the environment is care of God’s Creation and not something to have shoulders shrugged at out of misunderstanding or political beliefs.
As the disaster in the Gulf unfolds, this seems undoubtedly true, but I have never professed to have all the answers.
