I guess I am fixated on smells this month. (See Unwashed Jeans July 6) Here is a recipe that is supposed to de-smell your house.
Mix 3 cups of water with 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2-3 teaspoons of rosemary and a good splash of vanilla.
Does it work? I have no idea. I do know what kind of smell the Lord loves. It’s the sacrifice of sin-free-living. Perhaps we could focus our attention less on what the neighbours think and more on what aroma pleases God.
But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? (2 Corinthians 2:12-16, NIV)
Prayer- Lord, may we be a pleasing aroma to you. Amen
