Clear Thinking and Common Sense

A new fast food burger apparently has almost a pound of ground beef, a half pound of bacon, and a bunch of cheese. It holds a day’s worth of calories, not to mention about 90 grams of fat. Oh, but I bet it tastes good!

Isn’t it great that someone worked all this information out for us so that we can tut-tut and moan about how bad it is for us, while we chow down?  Seriously though, didn’t common sense already tell us it might not be a good dieter’s choice? Of course, so why do we not use our common sense?

Proverbs 3:21-26- Dear friend, guard Clear Thinking and Common Sense with your life; don’t for a minute lose sight of them. They’ll keep your soul alive and well, they’ll keep you fit and attractive. You’ll travel safely, you’ll neither tire nor trip. You’ll take afternoon naps without a worry, you’ll enjoy a good night’s sleep. No need to panic over alarms or surprises, or predictions that doomsday’s just around the corner, Because GOD will be right there with you; he’ll keep you safe and sound (MSG).

Prayer: Lord God, help us be commonsense people, living with good sense. Keep us from being fools that litter the country with silliness (from Proverbs 13:16, MSG).
