The fog covered the road in a mist of whiteness. I could hardly see the front end of the car but I persevered toward my destination. Suddenly, some colour appeared through the fog. I could hardly believe my eyes. There was a rainbow in the fog. How could this be? I marvelled and doubted my own eyes.
The next day, the very same thing occurred. Fog glistened ahead, but that rainbow, though shrouded in fog, again made itself known. God showed me the same thing twice, because I didn’t believe it the first time.
I needed that rainbow. I was in a terrible place, physically, mentally, emotionally and financially. But God pointed out that as I made my way through a life filled with uncertainty, I should believe and hope in his promises.
Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth. (Genesis 9:16, NIV)
Prayer – Father, thank you for the rainbows of life. Amen
