Cold Snap Cometh

We’ve had a fairly mild winter but this week the rigors of regular winter showed up. We are -20 to -25 decrees Celsius and real cold has settled in.

It’s red alert for all lest our water pipes freeze. That happened to me once and I hope to avoid it happening again. I didn’t realize it till I turned the tap on. Frozen water does not flow. Sometimes it even bursts the pipe that holds it.

How are your water pipes, dear friend? They will freeze up if you don’t keep the heat to them. I am not talking metal ones here but your heart connection to God.
Our hearts freeze if we let bitterness or unforgiveness creep in. That cold can get so big that it bursts any belief, love or kindness we ever had. Thankfully there is hope. Both taps and hearts thaw if a little heat is applied.

That’s how God’s Word vaults across the skies from sunrise to sunset, Melting ice, scorching deserts, warming hearts to faith. (Psalm 19:6, MSG)

Prayer- Lord, search out our potential frozen bits and thaw them before they freeze in unforgiveness for ever. Amen.
