Colour of Tears

I am told that all mammals cry, except for goats and rabbits! Tears lubricate and cleanse the eye, but we seldom think of that while we wail and weep. It’s rather like they mop up your mess. Wouldn’t it be great if they also removed stuff we shouldn’t have watched? What a bonus that would be!

Tears express feelings and even include natural pain relief.

Thee are several types of tears, including crocodile tears (the fake ones), emotional tears, onion tears, and frustration tears.

They taste rather salty, even though they are almost entirely made up of water. Crying might help you lose weight, because they reduce stress and even stop the production of hormones that store fat.

Experts say it’s good to cry because we should deal with our feelings and not hold them inside.

Tears feed us in some way.  My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” (Psalm 42:3, NASB)

God collects our tears so they must be worth a great deal.   You have taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?  (Psalm 56:8, NASB)

God sees our tears and answers them as like a prayer.  “Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; Do not be silent at my tears. (Psalm 39:12, NASB)

‘Thus, says the Lord, the God of your father David, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you. (2 Kings 20:5)

God will dry all tears from all faces!    He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord God will wipe tears away from all faces, He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; (Isaiah 35:8, NASB)

One other important thought: Tears have no colour; no matter whether we are white, red, yellow or black. Pain is pain. Let’s remember that.

Prayer- Today, Lord someone near us is weeping. Help us be a friend who cares and makes a difference. Amen.
